“To stimulate a knowledge and love of gardening through promotion and sponsorship of community projects and the protection and sustainability of native habitat. To promote and sponsor educational and horticultural experiences and civic involvement”.
Since the inception of Bloom and Grow in 1997, $459,000.00
in charitable donations has been made to the West Orange community.
“Nothing shows the ideals and the culture of a people more plainly than their gardens, parks and pleasure grounds. Far too little has been done along these lines heretofore, and now comes the Federation of Florida Garden Clubs to create a sentiment, to inspire enthusiasm, to disseminate knowledge; to exemplify, to purify, to elevate the lives of the masses. The work of noble American women along these lines cannot be valued too highly. Their aim is to spread beauty, love of nature, enthusiasm and inspiration over all the state – in a word to make life more beautiful.”
Henry Nehrling at the inception of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, 1929
